Since January 2021, Martin Kocher is Minister of Labor. He is also a Professor at the Institute of Economics at the University of Vienna (on leave). From 2016 until January 2021, he was Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies. He previously held positions at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, the University of East Anglia, the University of Amsterdam as well as the University of Innsbruck, where he also completed his doctorate. At LMU Munich, he served as dean, department head and director of the Munich Experimental Laboratory for Economic and Social Sciences (MELESSA). Martin Kocher is additionally the editor of the Journal of Economic Psychology, Visiting Professor at the Economics Department of the University of Gothenburg, Adjunct Professor on the School of Economics and Finance, Queensland University of Technology, and CESifo Research Fellow.
